The three main types of AI are…
Narrow AI (Weak AI)
- Description – AI designed to perform a specific task or a narrow range of tasks. It is the most common type of AI today.
- Examples – Virtual assistants (like Siri or Alexa), recommendation systems (like Netflix or Amazon), and image recognition software.
General AI (Strong AI)
- Description – AI with the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a wide range of tasks, similar to human cognitive abilities. It doesn’t exist yet but is the goal of many AI researchers.
- Examples – A hypothetical AI that could perform any intellectual task that a human can do.
Superintelligent AI
- Description – A form of AI that surpasses human intelligence in every field, including creativity, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. This is a theoretical concept that has not yet been realized.
- Examples – A superintelligent AI could outperform humans in virtually every area, including scientific research, decision-making, and even social interaction.
Narrow AI is what we have today, General AI is the future goal, and Superintelligent AI is a theoretical concept.
